This book is an antidote to the borrowed bits of Giants #1 (also from this week). Working within an established universe instead of mashing Akira and Pacific Rim together, James Stokoe gets a better result on all fronts. On the story front, when something feels like something that would be in an Alien story, that means he's getting it right. On the art front, the manga influences are used for a purpose, to both mask and accentuate the violence. Stokoe, like Stacy's mom, has got it going on.
