MILES MORALES: AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D.? 'Nuff said!
Date Available: 01/14/2015
BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

Miles' girlfriend has parents that are agents of Hydra. That MUST mean that his dad worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. right? Yes, actually, it does. Since they're unrelated events, let's make sure we keep them apart. Bendis is able to use his love of Kingpin in the only way available to him, flashbacks, and its great to see round boy again. Since we get Kingpin, we also get the Enforcers, and you either love the idea of a villain with a lariat and cowboy hat or you don't. I do, so count me in.

David Marquez does a nice job with a rougher inking style for the flashbacks, giving an almost 70's flavor to the mix. He's grown on me in the last 5 issues where I barely miss Sara Pichelli...barely. Miles and his dad reach something better than an accord, and that leaves this issue reallllly ready for something new and exciting to come, which is really what the Ultimate books should be about.

Wait...they're going to have the Illumnavengers kill the Ultimate Earth. Son of a grumble grumble grumble......

I give it 7 out of 10 Grahams
