Everyone's favorite look back at the Silver Age of DC Comics again delivers on their concept. The Firestorm storyline continues to build well utilizing the secondary characters as a wonderful backup team for Firestorm. The villians are truly a flashback to the 1980's when Firestorm's Rogue's Gallery were in their heyday. The Metamorpho storyline continues to reach into new territory. The Metal Men revisit that most popular of concepts ... other Metal Men! Long one of the coolest concepts since Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru created the series in 1962, the idea that all the elements on the Periodic Table could be Metal Men often influence the course of the series. One just has to look back at the fun one page Metal Facts in the original series to see the concepts being flushed out. And as an added bonus, the character of Copper is no longer the brunt of jokes of the later incarnations of the Metal Men. I wonder if this series could move forward with the idea I've been looking forward to seeing for decades, A team of Metal Men spanning the elements. It's long since overdue! Finally, Sugar and Spike drop us right back in the 70's. This concept is a wonderful reminder of how comics were. So far we've been reintroduced to dirty little embarrassing secrets of the big 3 (Superman/Wonder Woman/ Batman). This go around Hal Jordan's Green Lantern needs the help of our childhood stars. The entire "Itty" story is charming and a great introduction to the Metahuman Museum of Oddities! This place deserves it's own feature in this book and is chalk full of quick cameos to delight the classic comic fan. Included on display is the original Red Tornado, Kite Man, Planet Master, Brain Wave's helmet, Brother Power the Geek, Odd Man, The Green Team, plus many more! I truly believe that much like the Space Museum tales from back in Strange Adventures comics, this museum could be a stepping point to a new series of tales. As a classic comics fan, I'd love to see flashback tales of the characters shown in the museum!
