Countdown #5

$2.99
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
Story by Paul Dini Story consulting by Keith Giffen 8 script by Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti; art by Carlos Magno & Rodney Ramos 7 script by Sean McKeever; art by Ron Lim & Mark McKenna 6 script by Gray & Palmiotti; art by Jesus Saiz & Jimmy Palmiotti 5 script by Adam Beechen; art by Scott Kolins Covers by Scott Kolins
The Countdown ticks down as storylines converge and collide - a Great Disaster is clearly proving to be unavoidable!
BONUS REVIEW by GARY OWENS

O.K., the book has a Cadmus scientist unfold the story. Having a bystander detail how heroes handle a Crisis has been done (think Busiek in Astro City), and what makes them work/not work is voice and characterization of the non-hero. Here, the scientist is flat, somewhat scientific, but too often a mere narrator. Insights seep in, with a beautiful ending that shows Una’s character, but I wanted more. Chilling tale, however.
I give it 7 out of 10 Grahams
