Wolverine #62 (2003)

$5.00
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
Written By Jason Aaron Pencils & Cover By Ron Garney

Writer Jason Aaron (Scalped) and artist Ron Garney (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) bring you a searing 4-part epilogue to the biggest X-Men Event in a decade. In the searing aftermath of “Messiah CompleX,” Wolverine has just one thing on his mind: revenge. But who is the focus of his rage, and what dark secret does he share with them? And how far over the edge is Wolverine willing to go to get what he wants?

"The hunt is on for Mystique, and only one man has the history with her to get the job done: John Stamos! No, sorry, I got a little metatextual there. Actually, as the title states, it’s The Wolverine who’s searching every house, hovel, market and mosque in the Middle East to get revenge on one of the traitors from Messiah CompleX, and he’s not above gutting anyone and everyone who gets in his way. New writer Jason Aaron and new artist Ron Garney craft a surprisingly gory and mean little tale, even by The Wolverine’s standards. Luckily, they know what they’re doing, as this chase story really grips you, despite the new addition of the aforementioned ‘history’ Mystique and The Wolverine share, which feels a little tacked-on and since when is Mystique almost a hundred years-old, anyway? That aside, it’s a good, straight-forward chase, nicely done by two talented guys."
