VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
Written by BRIAN REED Penciled by LEE WEEKS Cover by ED MCGUINNESS

Captain Marvel is back, and everyone on Earth wants a piece of him. Ms. Marvel wants him in the Avengers. Iron Man wants him to hide away in safety. And the Church of Hala wants him as their messiah. Brian Reed (NEW AVENGERS: ILLUMINATI) and Lee Weeks (DAREDEVIL) continue the year's most stunning mini-series!

"Slowly, glacial, nearly imperceptibly, the reason for this series makes itself clear: it’s a Secret Invasion lead-in. Yeah, ol’ Nega-Bands Nelly is here to once again save Earth from the Skrulls, assuming he isn’t one himself. Ms. Marvel drops in this time to get Marv to sign up with the Mighty Avengers, but first a series of random villains have to be defeated, all with no obvious motivations (cough * SKRULLS * cough). It’s a much better issue than last time, but the character of Captain Marvel is still too much of a cipher to really invest in. Too bad, because with a stronger lead, this title could be worth sticking with. As it is, it’s not the big return of Captain Marvel that you’d hope for. "
