In this first issue Patch arrives in Coney Island only to get his eye sliced out by Trish, the wicked bad leader of the girl gang The Cherries. Across town, Sal, a pizza-selling bookie, meets a nasty end delivered by a monstrous shadow with a shotgun. All the fun begins here in the first super-rad issue of THE PIRATES OF CONEY ISLAND!
BONUS REVIEW by DAL BUSH
Way back when (1995), Larry Clark made a film called "Kids" and the world was shocked, SHOCKED at how awful the youth of America was depicted as being. So here we are in 2006 with a comic about morally bankrupt teens being awful to each other. Awesome! What an amazing, fresh idea! If you want to see emotionally dead people being horrible to one another, please come to one of our manager meetings. If you want a GOOD teen-oriented book, please pick up Scott Pilgrim from Oni. It's great, this ain't. 4 Grahams
