The superhuman registration act has been signed into law -- sides are being chosen -- but what side do our former villains fall on? Well... time for the T-Bolts to kick some spandex butt! BONUS REVIEW by W. DAL BUSH This is sort of the reason that people hate big, company-wide crossovers like Civil War. They're afraid being "forced" to get sub-par tie-ins. And thanks to issues like Thunderbolts #103, they have a point. A Civil War tie-in that is of virtually no interest unless you're already reading Thunderbolts, Marvel needs to stay away from this kind of filler if that want people to stay enthused about Civil War. Oh, and also of note: read Civil War #2 before you read this, since it ruins a big Civil War plot point in #2. How hard is it to throw in a "STOP! Read Civil War #2 first!" balloon? BONUS REVIEW by RICK BERG Well thanks for the spoilers warnings Marvel. DO NOT READ THIS ISSUE until you have read Civil War #2. After the events in Civil War, Iron Man and his Illuminati buddies recruit the Thunderbolts to help the pro registration side. The T-Bolts are the Empire… uh Government’s new set of bounty hunters. Their job is to capture and recruit super villains to the cause. Boba Fett and Dengar would be proud as the first “official” capture of rebel Beetles goes perfectly. And don’t forget the surprise ending! Atrociously, Fabian Nicieza vomits up another “storyline” in the ever lame legacy of the Thunderbolts. I mean c’mon its issue 103 and every other sentence still reads as if they could be still “faking” turning to the good side. We get it ok. You are former villains who are trying to be heroes or are you? Enough already. Even poor Tom Grummett seems to have been corrupted by this dreck. What used to be clean and energetic artwork now is tired and stiff. Just try and find a page without someone’s head being cut off, I dare you.
