Where were you when Captain America died? It's the anniversary of the day Steve Rogers was killed, a day of reflection and mourning in the Marvel U...a time to look back on the things Steve did and what he stood for... or is this issue actually the beginning of the most wicked plot twist since issue 25? Yeah, actually it's both. Plus, contributions from Cap creators past and present, including a very special essay by Joe Simon, a classic story from Cap’s Golden Age, a full gallery of 600 Cap covers, and more anniversary shenanigans than you can shake a shield at!
Date Available: 06/15/2009
BONUS REVIEW by JOHN ROBINSON

WOW. An Anniversary issue that actually feels like it.
Over 100 PAGES long with stories from Brubaker,Stern & Waid and only 1 reprint (Cap Comics #16), oh, plus a 2 page Alex Ross origin re-cap reprint, almost forgot. I enjoyed every single chapter (there's a whole bunch of 'em folks), getting a special kick out of Roger Stern showing us what's going on with Josh,Bernie and Mike, reflecting on his outstanding Cap run. Well worth the entertainment dollar, anyone having read Cap for years will get a huge kick out of this. The guy that hears about this issue the news? I think they'll be totally lost when he tries to read it. This comic seemed to have been created exclusively for the Cap comic geek, which is probably why I dug it so much. Sorry folks, no spoilers here - I like to be surprised when I read my comics as well.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
