Cars fans, start your engines! Before the big Dinoco 400 race, rookie sensation Lightning McQueen is interviewed by Darrel Cartrip. Full of braggadocio, McQueen reveals his scrappy origins as "Bulldozer" McQueen - a local short track racer who dreams of the big time, and recklessly plows his way through the competition to get there! Features 2 covers by Allen Gladfelter.
Introducing the world's worst superhero! When a low-level S.H.I.E.L.D. agent gets a hold of Hank Pym's new Ant-Man suit you know the Marvel Universe is in trouble. He's not concerned with saving the world or helping others. He's concerned with getting through the day and getting a leg up on life. He's not going to use his powers responsibly, he's going to use them for the betterment of himself. He's Ant-Man a new "hero" for the modern world. If you thought Robert Kirkman pushed the boundaries of what could be in a Marvel Comic with Marvel Zombies just wait until you see what he does in The Irredeemable Ant-Man!

Boom! Kids brings out the second title in their series of “kid” books, as Disney/Pixar’s Lightning McQueen, from the movie Cars, works to be the next Piston Cup champion. The story is told through the eyes of Lightning McQueen, and fits in nicely with the movie, since I can envision this tale to have happened during the time lapses in it. Nice story, great dialogue, a fun, fun, fun read for anyone…must admit, even better than The Incredible’s from last week! Only historically curious note I have, not to do with the story at all, is the non-appearance of the Comics Code Authority stamp on the cover. If anything should be marked as “Safe for Kids”, it’s this issue... Great Buy!
I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
