Atomic Robo And The Shadow From Beyond Time #1 (2009)

$4.00
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
Artist: Scott Wegener Author: Brian Clevinger Cover Artist: Scott Wegener

New York City, 1926. Atomic Robo's dull night of studying for a physics exam is interrupted by a duo from Nikola Tesla's past with a dire message: the imminent doom of all life in the universe! Guest starring Charles Fort, Howard Philips Lovecraft, and the Tunguska Incident. This is steampunk science fiction at its finest!

Date Available: 05/06/2009
BONUS REVIEW by Stephen Banas

Anyone who is reading this review right now falls into one of two very distinct categories. You read Atomic Robo or you do not. I feel it is my duty to purge the latter and steer them towards this fantastic independent series that now sees its third volume hit the shelves. If you feel it’s too late to jump on, FEAR NOT! This is a perfect opportunity to see what you’ve been missing. Atomic Robo is a clever mix of comedy, sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, action and noir all wrapped into one. The formula is somewhere close to this: Invincible + Fear Agent + The Rocketeer + Sherlock Holmes + other cool things (such as history) = Atomic Robo. The art is sharp, the writing is crisp and it never lacks adventure. If you read this and aren’t intrigued, pleased and anxious for more, then nothing else I say here could possibly change your mind.
I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
