A cast of top creators lends their talents to THE JOKER’S ASYLUM — a special month-long, weekly series of one-shots starring the greatest villains in Batman’s rogues gallery. Each issue tells a special stand-alone story that gives readers an inside look into the insane lives of the Dark Knight’s greatest adversaries. And all the stories are narrated by the Asylum’s leading homicidal maniac — The Joker!
Available July 23rd, 2008

This is a great example of how a talented artist can take a mediocre story and transform it into a highly readable one. Juan Doe, the cryptically annonymous artist takes a run-of-the-mill Scarecrow story where Crane uses his highly advanced chemical compounds and brilliant mind and turns it on... high-schoolers, and creates some truly terrifying visuals using his "paper cut-out" style. I still think the Penguin chapter of Joker's Asylum deserves top honors as the best of the bunch, but this Scarecrow story is a close second.
I give it 7 out of 10 Grahams
