The finale to the battle with the Legion of Super-Villains! Like many of the Legion's past encounters with the LSV, one Legionnaire will not survive it.

BONUS REVIEW by JOHN SCHAEFER
I have been an avid fan of the Legion since it's debut in Adventure Comics all those long years ago. I have gone through the good (Legion try-out, the Substitute Legion, the original Ferro Lad and Chemical King), and the bad (Princess Projectra is a snake?, Cosmic Boy's peek a boo costume, Blok and Quislet). And so with the fifth, sixth? volume of the Legion coming to an end, I have only one thought while reading this final issue...about time you killed off that Earth Man jerk! Yes, I don't care about spoilers for this review. That bloody hand is that of Earth Mightiest yahoo, Earth Man and good riddance! Super-villian, Super-hero, potential spy/turncoat, whatever role he played since his first appearance, I did not like this character. And what kind of name was Earth Man. Shrinking Violet, Lightning Lad, Sun Boy...now those are names. (There are those of you right now screaming at me, "What about Saturn Girl, hmmmm? You would be correct except that
Saturn Girl is given special exemption due to her Emma Peel pink one-piece cut out uniform with that cute little Saturn at her belly button!) However, if that was suppose to be the big Legion send off it wasn't much especially for a final issue. This book did have some good, the message of comradship, Brainy punching a girl, the return of good ole red shirt Mon-el, and the promise of a new generation of Mogo, help raise the bar a bit. The shame is that Earth Man dragged Shadow Lass character down before he croaked. Poor Mon-el, Shadow Lass stayed with him through all his trials (lead poisoning, his stint in the Phantom Zone, his stint in the past, his new life as a Green Lantern) only to dump him to mourn over that...that EARTH MAN! Bah, maybe Sun Boy can set him up with one of his friends at the Science Patrol.
