This is a series that is clearly trying to present a cinematic experience. The interior front cover is, thus far, being used as part of a panoramic view, or establishing shot. This particular issue manages to introduce four new characters before the "credits"...on page 7. This is a book that moves fast. Unlike other "decompressed" stories, Valiant is promising three issue story arcs in an effort to avoid padding. So far, the book just reads faster, which might be a problem with lesser material. Luckily in this case, it just means that you'll probably read it a few times while you're waiting for the next issue.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
