IT'S FINALLY HERE! They were loved by their adoring fans. They were reviled by the harsh press. They lived, they loved, they fought and they died…a lot - all for the sake of fame. They were the X-Statix, a team of mutant celebrities fighting for a brighter world and an even brighter spotlight! But they're old news now, because there's a new mutant team that will live harder, love harder, fight harder and die a whole lot harder than those has-beens! Peter Milligan, Michael Allred and Laura Allred return to introduce the best new super hero team you didn't know you needed! Meet…THE X-CELLENT!

BONUS REVIEW by Kirk Jackson

Once again, Peter Milligan and Mike Allred bring you the most media conscious super-heroes in the Marvel Universe. More worried about building followers on social media than actually doing any good in the world, the members of X-Cellent throw up a mirror to our own celebrities’ worst and most useless habits. One of their members is even named Mirror Girl whose powers are based solely on allowing people to look at themselves. Luckily, brought back to fight them are Mr. Sensitive, Doop and the other members of X-Statix who are… not much better? Oh well, it’s all a mess of self-indulgent reality show infighting anyway, and for a comic that aims basically to show the state of celebrity today, I wouldn’t have it any other way. My biggest and really only criticism, is that there’s not enough Doop, but luckily, this is only the first issue.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
