Welcome to the wildest, most dangerous new corner of the Marvel Universe. Welcome to Weirdworld.
A world of swords and sorcery and strange, perverted science. A world where one barbarian walks alone, on a dark and savage quest though all things weird and fantastic from throughout Marvel history.
His name is Arkon. A lost man in a lost world. Follow him if you dare. Rated T

Date Available: 06/10/2015
BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

This is probably the riskiest book of all the Secret Wars tie ins. Its lead character, Arkon, has some notable appearances in the Avengers and F.F. in the late 60s/early 70s, but that's about it. Don't let that scare you off. In fact, let that be the thing that grabs you. If we're already accepting that everything is different than what we knew for Marvel, why not go for reallly new and reallly different? Arkon is searching for his home world (which he remembers) and will use anything or anyone he comes across to help get him there.

Need more incentive? It's written by Jason Aaron of Thor and Star Wars fame, and takes place in a fantasy environment with a science base. It also features fully painted art from Mike Del Mundo. Stylistically, he's a bit like Bill Sienkiewicz w/ more restraint. I'll just tell you he can paint the heck out of a flying dragon being shot at by Ogres using artillery. If that sounds like your cup of tea, I'll start pouring. Say 'when...'

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
