 Do you know the Doom Patrol? Do you know the HBO Max series? Do you know the Gerard Way version? The John Byrne version? The GRANT freakin' MORRISON version? Add 'Do you know the Culver/Burnham version?' to that list of questions. If you don't know them at all, they're like the X-Men, but they're not like the X-Men. They're like the Umbrella Academy, but they're not like the Umbrella Academy. I guess that means they're their own quirky group of sort of superheroes, working with agenda, using their own unique powers under difficult circumstances while interacting with a world that frowns in their general direction. This issue also features Batman, so, there you go. Recommended for long time fans, X or Umbrella readers, people who've missed Chris Burnham's time on Batman Inc., and anyone with $4.00 willing to take a chance on something new.
