This is the Thor book I deserve after the last few years and if I deserve it you most definitely need it. This is the Thor book I was expecting Matt Fraction to have written 2 years ago except it is by some guy named Jason Aaron who has made me a believer. Wow, he gets Thor, there is a majesty and epicness to this book that has been missing since JMS left Thor a few years ago. As the story unfolds, we are treated to 3 tales of 3 very different ages of Thor all tied together by a century spanning murder mystery. Young Thor is brash and still unworthy of Mjolnir but more than ready to aid his viking worshipers in battle and celebration. Present day Thor answers the prayers of an alien child light years away from Midgard. And best of all we are treated to the return of King Thor, Lord of Asgard from Dan Jurgens' brilliant story from 9 years ago. Only this Lord of Asgard is far older and angrier. He uses the Destroyer's arm for his lost one and seemingly is the last of all Asgardians alive!? I haven't even mentioned the breathtaking artwork of Essad Ribic. It's like looking at a Renaissance painting on every page only with Thor in it and terrific panel work. If you don't get chills of greatness looking at the last page then you should check to see if you died a straw death already.

I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
