BONUS REVIEW by GARY OWENS

With the popularity of the Eastern mysticism, plots with ancient Chinese ties, thrown together in the backdrop of modern life, you would have thought a comic with overtones of all of them would have been out a long time ago. The Great Ten, about a government-ran Chinese superhero team, fills that gap. The plot is straightforward: super powerful beings, claiming to be lost Chinese gods, want followers. The Great Ten is there to stop them, and to figure out who they really are. Scripting is excellent, as characterization, this issue centering on The Immortal Man in Darkness, takes center stage. Art works, too, and I like the Chinese feel of the book. The Great Ten is fresh and powerful, and as long as the story doesn’t devolve into a political statement, I’ll be here enjoying it.
I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
