Find out what happened to Superman's father and how Jon made it back home from this strange and crime-ridden alternate world.

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

Bendis' run of amazing amusements on the Super-titles continues with Superman #9. Here's the skinny: Jon was trapped in space with his grandfather Jor-El. They were separated, grand pappy didn't try or succeed to find his missing grandson, and said Son Of Grand was bounced from member to member of the Crime Syndicate. This issue: Ultraman!

It would not be the best day if someone with your dad's face kept you inside a volcanic cage, right? If it would be, please use any number of crisis hotline numbers to address this sooner rather than later. The existence of something good seems to have an effect on him, and Jon gets his first truly Bendis dialogue out of it.

The art, present by Ivan Reis, past by Brandon Peterson works together and clearly delineates what is happening when. It is stunning to have seen as many good Superman books as we have over the past 5 years. It is more stunning that they have continued after Tomasi.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
