Maria Hill has a Skrull in custody, but she knows there's bound to be more...good thing she's got a foolproof Skrull detector ready to go. Maria Hill is extremely competent and extremely motivated to ensure this Secret Invasion doesn't go the way the last one did. All she needs to do is confirm that the Avengers really ARE who they claim to be... What could possibly go wrong?

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

I liked this book, but I know it won't sound that way.

Marvel has Ryan North writing both Fantastic Four and Secret Invasion for them right now. That is excellent news and they should be applauded for it. Or should they?

Secret Invasion exists to have a 'Secret Invasion' book available when the Secret Invasion series turns up on Disney Minus. That means its a cash grab. How can it grab cash if Marvel does nothing to promote that there is a(nother) full scale Skrull invasion going on right now? Wouldn't that be a big enough event to crossover into other titles? Wouldn't there be impacts and ramifications spreading across the entire Marvel universe? There would have to be, unless it was simply five issues of material they have no real interest in. So that means in 110 pages, we're going to have a set up, a conflict, and a resolution. Two issues in, and we still don't know what the exact conflict is that will have to be resolved. And sitting here, thinking about all that, reading a scene borrowed from the first Avengers movie, and the blood serum test scene from The Thing, I'm forced to concede that I'm really not enjoying THIS, I'm enjoying things I've already enjoyed IN this.
