The Old West is steeped in violence and strange magic in this macabre tale from the team behind the cult-hit miniseries Osborn, KELLY SUE DECONNICK (Captain Marvel) and EMMA RÍOS (Dr. Strange). Gunfighters have it out with swords as the whole world burns. There will be blood, blood, blood.

If I had to give Pretty Deadly a genre, it would be a Western fairy tale. This book is like diving into an American Hans Christian Anderson story. Every character's design is beautiful and ornate, the colors are amazing, and the art itself is breathtaking. However, this is one of those stories that will read better in trade form. After reorienting myself with the first issue, I was left wondering where the tense situation and stand-offs would leave the strange band of characters in the next issue. Overall, this is a beautiful and exciting series, with good things in store for its readers.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
