MK Spidey finishes a gauntlet-ier version of 'The Gauntlet' from Dan Slott's run on Amazing Spider-Man. This has been a hard book to describe to customers, so here goes: Spider-man fights an endless barrage of villians from his past across artscapes that borrow from and build on the work of David Mack, Ron Frenz, Sal Buscema, John Romita SR., JH Williams III, Trevor Hairsine, Paul Pope, Alex Ross, and Klimpt, with a touch of Jason Pearson and Eduardo Risso. Even having seen something like it, I've never seen anything like it. You can make the case that its repetitive. You can make the case that its lacking in story- Page 1 'Spidey punches everything he's ever seen in his life, continue for 6 issues' might honestly be the script. I've found myself going over these pages trying to pull out every influence, every nuance, and will do so again. I don't think that makes it great, but it does make it worthwhile, and exciting as well.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
