Here for the first time, read the thrilling origin story of John Wick, from 'Planet Hulk' writer Greg Pak and 'Dark Horse Presents' artist Giovanni Valletta.

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

The John Wick films have been about kinetic action and hyper stylized violence. They're great. They shouldn't translate to comics. A panel, no matter how much movement, is a static event, a moment in time. When this title was announced, I was excited that Greg Pak was writing it. Maybe it had a chance. The success of the book was going to hang on the art. In the capable hands of newcomer Giovanni Valletta, consider that success well hung.

Story wise, this book takes place before the first film, so consider it friendly for new readers as well.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
