VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
(W) Charles Soule, Jeff Lemire
(A/CA) Leinil Francis Yu
The war between the Inhumans and the X-Men takes a dark turn leaving Inhumans hopelessly outmatched. Emma Frost, the White Queen, faces off against Medusa, queen of the Inhumans, as both fight for the future of their people. It all ends here. Don't miss the epic oversized conclusion of INHUMANS VS X-MEN!

This book is gorgeous. Lenil Francis Yu is one of the best pencillers working in comics. Its a shame he keeps getting bounced around between titles. Maybe he'll be more rooted after MaRebirthv in 2018.

The book itself undoes every bit of character development that Emma Frost had over the last 16 years. Starting with Grant Morrison's New X-Men, she became someone plausibly growing as a person (ok, a mutant) until we loved her, in all her complexity and occasional ugliness. This ruins all that, and I'll use that word as often as I have to. Ruin ruin ruin, I says. Pretty terrible stuff, and unlikely to push anyone in the increasingly diminished audiences for either dog in this fight to care more.

I give it 3 out of 10 Grahams
