Powell will also paint covers for each issue of this new ongoing series, including a wraparound cover to kick things off! Acclaimed artist Phil Hester signs on for the first storyline, and Alex Ross supplies a painted 50/50 variant cover! Love me some Godzilla. And IDW delivers with Godzilla sans Godzookie, Powells script is laced with some humor so the title isn't too too serious, but it's unfortunate timing seeing a disaster in Japan, & hard to jump on board with the few jokes he does dish out because of it. It's an all Godzilla issue as we read about the very first coming of Godzilla. Art by Phil Hester was spectacular and read very very nicely, plus IDW is promising more TOHO monsters in future issues. An excellent start, just bad timing with the Japanese Tsunami that just hit leaving me with a weird feeling after reading the book.
