BONUS REVIEW by John "Doc" Schaefer

Thirty-three issues ago, we were introduced to a new Vertigo title that many initially thought was going to be another attempt at milking the cash cow called Fables. But with Bill Willingham's fresh look at the women of the Fables universe and adorned with covers by Adam Hughes, the title quickly picked up a fan following. Featuring strong female characters, the book appealed to a wide audience. Unfortunately, as the storylines progressed, they did start to slip away from the initial concept and did seem to rely more on the overall world of Fables. Even in this final stand alone issue, the final focus of the plot is to bring Goldilocks back to the point where the Fairest In All The Land graphic novel begins. Which steals away from some of the charm of having one of our favorite pain in the butt's meet with failure after failure in her somewhat warped schemes. Some might claim that this is a spot of closure genius, I disagree. The Adam Hughes cover is still nice though.

I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams
