What a great time to be a comic book reader. This week we have some great looks back at the past. Within the pages of DC Comics newest Batman #55, Tom King explorers the early Batman/Robin sidekick origins. And this week's Amazing Spider-Man Annual fleshes out just what the original black suit Spider-Man symbiote was thinking in those early days just after Secret Wars. Here in this brand new IDW Dick Tracy: Dead Or Alive #1 comic book, Mike Allred and Rich Tommaso give us a look back and the early days of another iconic crime fighter. They give us a great modern-day nostalgic look back at the Dick Tracy character that many fans have been waiting a long time for. A world filled with all of the great Dick Tracy Rogues Gallery of bizarre villains. This version presents a slightly modern take on the classic 1930's story. Just like in the 1990 Dick Tracy movie, here it's a blend of mainly old and some new tech, never saying when the story occurs but definitely in the past. With some modern-day storytelling twists, Dick Tracy #1 is definitely a fun look back at this classic comic strip character.
