As more and more of the Challengers of the Unknown are killed in action, the remaining few must press ahead on their quest! They have to uncover the secret behind the talismans they've been collecting before Ace and the spirits from the Well of Souls can finish the job that started with the plane crash!
Date Available: 04/18/2012
BONUS REVIEW by Shanna John Schaefer

What the hell?! Deadman gets a full five issue to explore his place in the New 52 Universe and DC's premier team of non-superpowered heroes only gets three! And with Jerry Ordway artwork! Aww Man, this sucks. However, Dan Didio and Jerry Ordway do manage to pull it together for a wonderful open ending. My only problem is that Rocky had to die. Since their first appearance in the pages of Showcase comics, Rocky has always been the heart of the team. A fact that was heavily used in both the 1991 and 1996 series. Luckily, we still get to keep June, Rocky, Prof, and Red. Our fifth and final surviving member, Maverick won the death lottery I suspect because 1960's science teams were not known for their racial diversity. (Although the original Sea Devils had their sister team the International Sea Devils ... remember Molo. Ah good days.) And why did my beloved science team get cut short? For a 3 part Vandal Savage and daughter saga that by the cover art and blurb looks like something out of Silence of the Lambs? For shame, New 52, for shame.
