SERIES PREMIERE The United States of America, 2022. The loss that ripped them apart drove one into the arms of the police state and the other towards a guerrilla war against the white supremacy. Now they meet again. This is a story of a war.
Date Available: 01/17/2018
"What's so civil about war, anyway?" -Axl Rose, and maybe 2.4 billion other people.
Days of Hate is the story of a broken America. Even more broken than right now? Yes, in ways that are detailed as we start to learn about how things went between 2018-2022. While we don't get an exact date for when the story takes place, its close enough in both tone and terror to be in 'the plausible future', sort of where Bendis' Scarlet took place.
Trigger warning! Someone pulls a trigger and shoots an American Na*i in the head. If the thought of that bothers you because you can't believe it would ever get that bad, this book is for you. If the thought of that bothers you because your angered by an act of violence against someone you sympathize with, you'll want to direct voting with your dollars to a different book.
Subtle character work from Ales Kot, beautiful impressionistic art from Starve's Danijel Zezelj. A promising start. Recommended for fans of Calexit #1 and people who like second issues actually coming out.
I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
