IT IS WINTER IN AMERICA. For over 70 years, he has stood in stalwart defense of our country and its people. But in the aftermath of Hydra's takeover of the nation, Captain America is a figure of controversy, carrying a tarnished shield…and a new enemy is rising! Who are the Power Elite? And how do they intend to co-opt and corrupt the symbol that is Captain America? Rated T+

If you're not a fan of funny books with political overtones, you should probably stay away from the one with America in the title. It's not like the big A stands for France. It's a solid first issue with one fascinating aspect, it's going to be good whether you loved Secret Empire or hated it. For you see, if you cut off one story line, two more take it's place. I was particularly pleased that it wasn't nearly as wordy as the first issue of Black Panther. Not only that, but it makes Agent 13 a much more interesting character in the space of 31 pages. It's probably going to be a polarizing title, but then again there are WalMarts being turned into detention facilities, so that happened... Highly recommended for those who recall when Steve threw down the shield because he was mad as hell about Watergate, and anybody who has yet to have red fabric permanently affixed to their face. You know who you are.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
