Alan Burnett and Paul Dini return once more to the world of Batman: The Animated Series! Someone is targeting the Muscle now that he's locked up in Blackgate Penitentiary. With his deep ties to the criminal underbelly of Gotham, the worst villains are calling for his head before he turns them over to the police! Batman will need to protect him, but can even the Dark Knight figure out where the next attack will come from?

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

The many artists who worked on the many incarnations of the animated Batman comics used to all be vetted pretty thoroughly. When you're using fewer lines to tell a visual story, those lines have to be on point for the characters to look correct, and for the storytelling to be clear from start to finish. Jordan Gibson doesn't make the cut with this modern version. To be fair, he's hamstrung at every turn by colorist Monica Kubina, who seems to think dark to darker are the only options available. The end result is action that is difficult to follow at times, soaked in a muddy pallette so blurry and dark it obscures that bits are drawn with clarity. That makes this a waste of a good Alan Burnett/Paul Dini story, which is a shame.

I give it 5 out of 10 Grahams
