JED MACKAY AND STORMBREAKER C. F. VILLA TAKE THE REINS OF EARTH'S MIGHTIEST HEROES! The Star. The Icon. The Witch. The Construct. The God. The Engineer. The King. The world is ever in peril, and a new team of Avengers mobilizes to meet any dangers that dare threaten the planet. But when TERMINUS attacks, a new and insidious danger rears its head: one that the Avengers know all too well, and one that comes to them in the most dangerous of guises - that of a friend.

Jed MacKAY isn't just telling a solid story starting with a great first issue, he is having a lot of fun while doing it. We get to see a first mission of this team, while getting flashbacks of it being assembled. There are some heartfelt conversations and explanations for who is selected and why. The story itself is setting up something big and the battle is a great examination of each Avenger and their role on the team. This issue doesn't feel to heavy as many Avengers comics have in recent years, but the last page definitely sets that up for the future. I think the team is an interesting mix and if you want a solid place to start with what's sure to be a solid Avengers run, look no further. I highly recommend this as it's also a lot of fun!

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
