“ANGELS AND DEMONS” Part 1 (of 6)

There are lines that the X-Men have sworn never to cross. But after the shocking events of “Messiah Complex,” Cyclops realizes that some enemies need to be dealt with permanently… and the X-Men can never know about it. Enter WOLVERINE, WARPATH, X-23 and WOLFSBANE…X-FORCE.

"I know it’s just one of those superhero-comic conceits that you kind of just have to suspend your disbelief on, but I love the idea that, despite the massive shake-ups brought about by Messiah CompleX and the depressing, end-of-their-rope malaise of the new X-Force team, they STILL find time to get swanky, skin-tight ‘black ops’ X-Men uniforms! With bare midriffs! And red-lensed domino masks! Plus, I’m a little miffed that Marvel called this ‘X-Force’ instead of the name used during development, ‘Wolverine and the Wolverteens’. Seems like a missed opportunity, but what do I know? Well, I know that despite a few contrivances, this is a cool team comic, exceptionally violent and emotionally traumatized, where THE WOLVERINE is actually the most restrained, emotionally-available and level-headed character on the team. Should be a fun ride."
