"KILLED IN ACTION" Part 3 of 4 "Confirmed Kills" For some time you've known the secret of the SCARLET SPIDERS. Now here's what happens when CLOUD 9 finds out! Just how will the Initiative's resident headcase react to Michael, Van, and Patrick? And if that wasn't bad enough, just wait till you see what happens to another of our longstanding cadets! More death! More mayhem! No mercy!
REVIEW by BRIAN FISHER

This book has done a complete 180 from where it started out. Not necessarily in a bad way. When this title started out it was interesting to see what the next generation of super heroes would look like and to see some neat cameos from long forgotten C-listers. It was fun and, aside from a few disturbing moments (MVP's death anyone?) it's been light and breezy. But with the new story arc, "K.I.A." it's flip-flopped. There are light and humorous moments scattered here and there, but amidst some very dark and violent themes. Recruits are dying left and right and no one seems to be able to stop the clone of MVP, now calling himself KIA. This book is still remarkably good (arguably better than the other Avengers titles). Caselli is a major talent and I'm sure we can expect much more from this artist in the future, and Slott seems to be relishing the fact that he writing a book of this scope. For those of you who've jumped ship on this title in recent months, now's the time (with the 2-2-1 Sale coming up this weekend) to get caught up on one of Marvel's better sleeper titles.
I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
