Superman Batman #43

Superman Batman #43

$3.50
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
Written by Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning Art and cover by Mike McKone & Lanning
Dr. Light is back — and he’s got the Titans on his side! Identity Crisis showed how evil Dr. Light could be, but writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning and fan-favorite artist Mike McKone take him to a new level in this stand-alone special issue guest-starring Steel!

"Let me make this perfectly clear: I am a big BIG fan of this issue’s creative team, Abnett’n’Lanning and Mike McKone. That makes it important for me to point out to you, and them, that this issue is beneath them. Not that the execution of this issue is in any way subpar, but the POINT of the issue is… well, there isn’t one. It’s a done-in-one that sees (SPOILER!) Superman & Batman team-up to fight Doctor Light, and they manage to defeat him. That’s it. It’s a good story, but these are GREAT creators. They need (and are expected) to do GREAT stories. This feels like a warm-up pitch of a comic. Sort-of disappointing."
