House of Mystery #11

$2.99
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT Written by Matthew Sturges Art by Luca Rossi, Jose Marzan Jr. and Jim Fern Cover by Esao Andrews
Sex, suspicions and treachery erupt, and explanations are in order at the House of Mystery. Who is Fig Keele really? Who and what are the Conception? Where is the Space between, and why is this all very bad news for Harry Bailey? Find out here in part 1 of "The Space Between," featuring a violent history lesson illustrated by Jim Fern (CROSSING MIDNIGHT) with an evocative cover by new regular cover artist painter Esao Andrews (FABLES: 1001 NIGHTS OF SNOWFALL). • 32 pg, FC, MATURE READERS
Date Available: 03/04/2009
BONUS REVIEW by MEGAN BYRD

This issue starts the “The Space Between” story arc, and it promises to be as engaging as the last ten issues of this witty fantasy title. While we’ve been learning plenty about Fig, Harry, and the other dwellers in the House of Mystery, much is finally revealed about the world surrounding them, with plenty of “mystery” left for future issues. The how’s why’s what’s and where’s are finally addressed, but this looks to be just the tip of the iceberg. It’s not too late to jump on board as the first trade is out now, with volume two set for a June release. If you’re a fan of Fables and Sandman, House of Mystery is right up your alley. This may just be the next big thing from Vertigo. I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
