Batman’s got a fan club! But it’s a mischievous fan club of one known as Bat-Mite, and he just can’t stand the other Super Friends saving the day alongside Batman. Will The Caped Crusader be forced to fly solo from now on? Not if Mister Mxyzptlk can help it!

How much fun is it when the companies actually acknowledge, and feature, fans in their comics? DC does for this month’s issue of Super Friends, where Bat Fan Bat Mite takes center stage to show his love, and support, of Batman. It’s crazy, I know, a throwback to storylines that many may not have read (I haven’t), but aren’t disappointed in missing (I’m not). But these are for kids, and my seven-year-old son read it and thought it was one of the best comics he’s ever read. And Sholly Fisch, the writer, does a great job of bringing in an important lesson at the end. I found it corny, yet effective, a must buy for those wanting to introduce offbeat characters to their kids (or wanting to learn more yourself), while having some fun along the way.
I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
