REVIEW by Brian Fisher

I don't know exactly what Mark Millar meant when he said that War Heroes was, and I'm paraphrasing here so forgive me, "what Ultimates 3 could have been." And, dear lord I wish we had gotten this instead of the utter garbage that Ultimates 3 turned out to be. What War Heroes is is a satyrical look at the unending war on terror. The US government, sick and tired of losing battle after battle develops a drug that gives their soldiers super powers for a 24-hour span of time. I see how this could have seamlessly fit right in with Millar's previous Ultimates stories. It's got the same massive scale, tongue-in-cheekiness and characters that teeter on the edge of total unlikeability. Exactly what we expect from Millar at this point.
I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
