Wytches has been a brutal horror comic book series, and #5 continues to twist the screws. Sailor, the sympathetic young woman at the center, is trapped among the wytches, so her dad pulls out all the stops to prevent whatever tragedy could befall her. The physical and gruesome tale is punctuated with resonant flashbacks making the tense proceedings all the more effective. Jock's art is kinetic and expressive, but also contributes to the rushed quality of the narrative which has been this series one very minor weakness heading into the back end of this arc. I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
