VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
(W) Garth Ennis (A) Russell Braun (CA) Frank Cho Karl Kauffman, a.k.a. The Phantom Eagle, is in way over his head and he is only just scratching the surface of the Valley of Flames. This new terrifying area of the Marvel Universe is full of suprises! Rated T+ Date Available: 06/24/2015
BONUS REVIEW by John "Doc" Schaefer
As much as I bristle at the idea of Marvel's version of DC's Convergence actually generating a good title, it has! With a feel for 1970's-80's adventure movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Cherry 3000, Where Monsters Dwell is not based on the 1970's Marvel title which reprinted little seen monster stories. This new title showcases the little used Golden Age hero known as the Phantom Eagle. And like any good rogue hero, he's a bit of a smart-*ss that you can't help but love! Thrown in a hot babe who has no interest in our hero, a fraught with danger cross country trip, a land full of dinosaurs, a tribe of man-hating leather clad warrior women, and slap a Frank Cho cover on it which is beautiful in it's simplicity and you have a book that can't be beat! Holy Perils of Gwendoline In the Land of the Yik Yak! I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
