The Children of Tomorrow have transformed the Norse Gods into mortal men! Now, depowered and on the verge of utter destruction, the only hope the Pantheon has lies with Nick Fury and his Ultimates! Can Fury's superhuman task force put an end to the devastation of the Asgardian people? If not, will the blight of the gods be visited on mankind next? 32 PGS.

Date Available: 10/26/2011
BONUS REVIEW by RICK BERG

Finally after countless mediocre mini-series the Ultimates are back. Hickman gets it. The Avengers, uhm, Ultimates joined together to fight the fight no one of them can beat separately, for example something scarier than an army of sparkly vampires. Anyway the Children of Tomorrow are that threat, they seem unstoppable as the quickly adapt to anything Borg style and continuously have laid the smack down on everything Fury and Company throw at them. This issue continues that beat down epically. Asgard has fallen, countless super humans are dead and Tony Stark and Thor have a secret plan to finally stop the The City from growing. Ultimate action ensues. Esad Ribic's artwork is easily the best since Hitch left for greener pastures, equally epic and awe-inspiring. It's like Charles Vess has returned to super hero comics, sheer jaw dropping. I realize this is technically Ultimates vol 8 but Hickman and Ribic have returned this title to greatness for the first time in 4 years.
