Welcome back to Smallville, Clark Kent. Only here you still haven’t left. This highly anticipated book re-teams superstar artist Gary Frank with the man writing basically all of the DCU Geoff Johns. These two had an incredible run last year on Action comics, and seem to have lost no time picking up where they left off. The story starts off with Clark still in high school, unaware of just who he is. You get to see most of his first encounters with his superpowers, many early moments with his old pals Lana Lang and Pete Ross, and if you ever wondered just where that costume and his glasses came from you will find out here. You will definitely see what you SHOULD be getting for a $3.99 comic here. The one drawback to this issue is that so much happens so fast it feels like you’ve barely had time to enjoy it. It’s not perfect, but it’s only a little off of the mark. I think you’ll like this if you give it a try!
I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
