From the fallout of NECESSARY EVIL, comes new beginnings and new twists that will be felt in the pages of Spider-Man for years to come! SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #20 is where it all starts! Do NOT miss this one! It's the first ever adventure for the Superior Spider-Man and the Black Cat. Felicia Hardy always cared for the Spider more than the man. But what happens when that man is Otto Octavius? Plus: A day Otto has been waiting for is finally here. Is the world ready for 'Dr. Peter Parker'...and what he plans to do next?

This issue goes to show a lot of the reasons I enjoy Doc Ock as the Superior Spider-man. The way he handles himself when he comes up against the Black Cat was unexpected, but completely in character for Ock. Seeing Ock take Peter's life in new directions is interesting, because the one thing the Amazing Spiderman suffered from was staying the same. The dialog between Ock and and pretty much everyone he interacts with is still hilarious in it's seriousness, yet I for one am really convinced at the sincerity he is showing for wanting to be a good guy. He even goes so far as to make things harder on himself, by refusing to use his ill-gotten gains as Doc Ock. Coupled with some decent artwork, which has some of the best renderings of the Superior Spider-man costume, I was left eagerly waiting for the next issue. Which at the end of the day is what a comic should do.

I give it 7 out of 10 Grahams
