NEW STORY ARC! 'GUT CHECK': Part One-Coach Boss holds sway over Craw County for one reason: he wins football games. But after the biggest, ugliest loss of his career, the coach must become more of a criminal than ever before, if he's gonna keep ahead of his enemies. Enemies like Roberta Tubb, who's come to town with a machine gun and some serious questions about how her daddy died. The 2015 Harvey Award-winning (Best New Series) and 2016 Eisner Award-winning (Best Continuing Series) southern-fried crime comic by JASON AARON & JASON LATOUR is back for another round of football, BBQ, and bloodshed!
Date Available: 11/02/2016
BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

It's fall, and football is in the air. That means we have 'Southern Bastards' returning with the Runnin' Rebs for a season unlike one they've ever faced. Can Coach Boss, a dirty man like few other, keep the game he loves clean when nothing else is?

The answer to that can be found in this issue. It turns out Craw County turns on you pretty quickly after a loss. There's genuine confusion and fear that the team, even Coach Boss himself, won't survive a second one. Jason Aaron throws Earl's daughter right into the mix, and you'll seethe along with her like you're sitting in Boss BBQ. Jason LaTour's got a mean looking cartoony art style, and he knows how to bring out its strengths by coloring himself with a limited palette that will make you feel red while you're seeing it. There's a reason this title is one of our best selling graphic novels. If you've just read v3, this is the start of v4.

I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
