Written by JUDD WINICK Art by JOE BENNETT Covers by DUSTIN NGUYEN 1:10 Variant covers by KEVIN MAGUIRE DC's biweekly JUSTICE LEAGUE event continues! All of the pieces are finally in place, and Max Lord's ultimate plan finally reveals itself. This is a special can't-miss issue featuring Max Lord's origin and the reason he's made it his life's work to snuff out metahumans, aliens and the entire Super Hero community. Date Available: 02/23/2011 BONUS REVIEW by SHANNA BERRY Sometimes when a hero dies, there's months of build up, black poly bag, and articles in the Times. And other times there isn't even a whisper. Last issue ended with a literal bang, and we were left wondering if it was fatal, or if our hero would go on to fight another day. This issue brilliantly jumps back in time to a young Max Lord, where the seeds of greed and lust for power were first planted, insight into the character I've never experienced before. Oddly enough, this issue is a great jumping on point, even though it's right in the middle of some serious stuff, this issue fills you in on EVERYTHING from Max's past. From Justice League International to Wonder Woman breaking his neck, to Blackest Night and his biggest scam to date. Ending in sadness, as another hero is lost. This reader is mourning, and somehow cheering at what an amazing book this is. 10 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
