VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
The post-apocalyptic DUNGEONS & DRAGONS setting's first ever comic continues! Beneath a crimson sun lie wastelands of majestic desolation and cities of cruel splendor where life hangs by a thread. Welcome to Athas! In Part 4 of 'Ianto's Tomb,' Grudvik and Aki-along with Veiled Alliance preservers-face down the dangers of the Under-Tyr... as well as the last gambit of the Toothcutter chieftain Mudrada. Date Available: 04/20/2011 BONUS REVIEW by GARY OWENS One Dungeons and Dragons comic book is not enough, you know. Wizards of the Coast, owners of D&D, offers us a comic (through IDW) set in the Dark Sun universe, the trademarked D&D campaign setting. Naturally this comes as Wizards pushes out the new release of Dark Sun. And while I don’t play any on/offline multiplayer games (D&D is now online, I guess), I’m a fan of fiction based off of those games. As for story, this one is mostly action, as the crew try to find an ancient tomb with various things getting in their way. The world itself has much potential, in terms of drama and characters, which is the draw for me, but this story, spent mostly underground, doesn’t touch that much, frankly. This comic is geared for active players (want to know the hit points on one of the main characters? It’s in here!), but I hope they expand the storyline. In the end, it’ll draw in more casual fans… 6 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
