Men who can pull you into a book, taking you out of the harsh realities of life if even for a brief time merely by the ink applied to page. The father and son team of the Rivera’s fall into the latter category. Every page is a piece of art that the aspiring student would do well to examine. One could speculate that this story probably has special meaning for these men as they drew Matt searching for the exhumed body of his father – I knew it did for me. The writing truly captures the passion of a character who is willing to descend blindly into the darkness to protect his loved ones even when he is the only one who truly needs protecting.
