“You Don’t Need a Reason to Help People”. Those were the words that piercingly stared back at me on the tumblr meme as I was procrastinating in beginning this review. One would think as a Pastor that would be a given, but not so. Sometimes the needs of people are so great and so frequent and they so lacking in appreciation that you find yourself asking, why should I bother? Because of these thoughts, I truly thank God when media comes along that presents themes of hope, determination to do what’s right, self-sacrifice, and helping others all while inspiring us to be better people. The Daredevil Dark Nights mini-series has been that perfect vehicle thus far. Written AND drawn by Lee Weeks, Daredevil alumnus, nothing is lost in translation as he tells the story of what it means to be a hero. We find it’s not with super strength, super speed, or super intelligence…it’s with super heart. With over 500 issues of Daredevil including all the mini’s and most crossovers and guest spots under my belt, this is my favorite Daredevil story ever written. So take a break from whatever wibbly-wobbly time event Marvel is doing and whatever league war is going on at the distinguished competition, and read a story that just might make you want to be a better person. Shouldn’t we be asking this from all of our comics anyway?

I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
