Annihilation Conquest Quasar #1 (2007)

$2.99
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT

Written by CHRISTOS GAGE Penciled by MIKE LILLY Cover by MATT WILSON

Annihilation: Conquest continues here - - with a fantasy quest for the key to the entire event! The new Quasar - - a.k.a. Phyla-Vell, daughter of Captain Marvel - - embarks on an epic journey that could bring an end to Conquest. What has happened to her home world? What classic foe of the Avengers is now hunting her? What is troubling her lover, Moondragon? Join the action as Wizard’s “2007 Writer to Watch” Christos Gage (UNION JACK) and Mike Lilly (Vampirella) introduce you to a sci-fi Joan of Arc determined to earn her legacy and save a galaxy!

BONUS REVIEW by W. DAL BUSH
The new Quasar and her girl hit the space road for a non-epic quest to find the "Kree savior". Uh, isn't that Hulkling from Young Avengers? Anyway, their non-epic quest is beset with talking trees and robots of many worlds. Well, at least two worlds. Maybe more. Consult your Annihilation Conquest Handbook, available eventually. Anyway again, Christos Gage does a passable job with some yet-to-be-deboringed (sp?) lead characters involved in a yet-to-be-enthrillinged (...no, that's spelled right) story, and Mike Lilly is apparently now the offspring of Alan Davis and Carlos Pacheco, but not in the good way. Just like last week's "Wraith", this is best left to Annihilation fans, not those looking to be converted. 6 Grahams
